One of a Kind Creations by Cassandra
Cassandra creates One of a Kind, original hand sculped dolls from both Polymer clay and Porcelain, unique Jewellery pieces from Metal Clay as well as handmade watercolour pots.
Originally from NSW, she is now based on Tamborine Mountain and is continuing to focus on her creation of dolls after re discovering polymer clay in 2010. Each of her dolls has its own personality and is created from design stage to finished product. Each doll is hand sculpted and hand painted. She sews and creates costumes unique to each doll using a range of cotton/linens, silks and laces. Her porcelain dolls are sculpted, developed into plaster molds and cast into porcelain. They are hand painted using China Paints.
Having a huge desire to create and try new things, she discovered Precious Metal clay in 2016, and already having a kiln to work with porcelain, experimented primarily with bronze clay. Having had experience in making molds, she collects pieces from nature, such as ferns and leaves ready to cast in beautiful unique bronze pieces which are then made into jewellery.

In 2020 after realising a love for painting also, she has branched out into making watercolour paint. Her love of unique unusual things, lead her to making her own one of a kind ceramic pots to keep her paint in.
Sustainability and caring for the environment is paramount to the artist. In her dolls, Jewellery and paint making she uses natural elements, fibres and techniques that will not harm the environment.
“Since a child I have always loved to make things. I don’t consider myself to be an artist, rather someone who loves to create. I draw inspiration from my surrounding and find Tamborine Mountain a great source of inspiration. When I create a doll I will start with an initial idea, but they really create themselves and shape their own personality as they develop through my creative process. They never end up as I originally visualise! Because of this process they truly end up being one of a kind”
