Hand Dyed Silk Wrap
These beautiful hand dyed silk wraps are all hand dyed using 100% Asian silk. The silk is a 16.5 mm weight crinkle crepe and are sewn to a ½” x 42” (measurements are approximate).
The silk wraps are sewn to a point on each end using wooly nylon edging and all ends have been treated to prevent fraying.
This hand dyed silk is very easy to care for: wash in cold water using mild detergent, straighten ribbons with a finger press, lay flat to dry. You will find the crinkle silks may like to draw up and curl, you can straighten and reshape to a flat smooth ribbon by lightly pressing with a steam iron. Use the nylon setting on your steam iron (no hotter) or you could melt or scorch your wooly edging.
All silk has been put through a lengthy steaming process to assist in retaining their beautiful colors. Every effort has been taken to maintain the beauty and vibrant colors found in this silk, however it is impossible to truly colorfast silk. This does not mean that your ribbons will run or transfer color to other fibers, this simply means that there is always a possibility that the colors may fade over time.
